Jean Fruth
Photographer
Sports photographer Jean Fruth goes beyond taking pictures; she tells powerful stories through her diverse portfolio, which encompasses portraiture and various sports. Beginning her journey in New York City and later moving to Healdsburg, California, she developed a passion for capturing the dynamism and cultures of her subjects. Jean’s talent led her to photograph iconic Bay Area teams like the Giants, A’s, and 49ers, and she significantly contributed to the National Baseball Hall of Fame's archive. In 2019, she co-founded Grassroots Baseball, a non-profit aimed at promoting amateur baseball, while also working as a traveling photographer for La Vida Baseball and La Vida Sports, highlighting Latino sports stories. As a designated Sony Artisan of Imagery, Jean shares her expertise through workshops and has published two books, including Grassroots Baseball: Route 66, with proceeds supporting her non-profit efforts.
